Psychedelic Forest, the American Northeast has nothing on the autumn colors of East Idaho.
When I was more naive of the nuance of color play, I was disappointed the red mountain maples turned red before the quaking aspens turned gold. After years of shooting them wishing for the metaphorical greener grass of overwhelming autumn color my thick head realized that the juxtaposition of both warm and cool colors was a gift in disguise. I now start shooting before peak autumn color because peak color is more perception than reality.
