Sunwapta Falls

Sunwapta Falls in Jasper National Park, the tenacity of the boulder hanging tenaciously to the precipice above the falls makes me keep returning to this wonderous spot, I was disappointed on this arrival to find it largely submerged. In 1892, Canadian geologist, prospector, artist, explorer, scientist, professor, A.P. Coleman, gave Sunwapta Falls' name the Stoney Indian word for "turbulent river". carve deep into the limestone to create a forceful torrent of water, falling from 60 feet (18 meters) into the canyon. Located along the Icefields Parkway, Sunwapta Falls consists of upper and lower waterfalls that are fed by the Athabasca Glacier. This is a top natural sight on one of the most scenic drives in the world.
