Night glow Kilauea Caldera, Volcanos National Park, Big Island, Hawaii. Kīlauea's eruptive history has been a long and active one; its name means "spewing" or "much spreading" in the Hawaiian language, referring to its frequent outpouring of lava. Most of the orange glow you see here is just the rock wall of the Caldera illuminated by the lava lake below. Lower left you can see some splashing lava from the lave lake below.
