Excelsior Geyser Crater runoff, Yellowstone National ParkAdd to Cart Add to Lightbox Download
Excelsior Geyser Spring produces 4000 gallons of boiling water per minute which flows from the pool to the Firehole River down this little waterfall as well as a few other boiling streams nearby just out of the frame. The yellow and orange color comes from microorganisms known as thermophiles, meaning heat loving bacteria.
